Use Green Printers

The single largest type of waste is paper. Paper from trees requires enormous amounts of time (growth), energy and chemicals, to yield paper pulp at 50% the weight of the tree.

Treeless paper now an option

Exciting earth friendly alternatives for paper are now available using fiber from plants such as hemp, bamboo, banana and in particular, kenaf. Kenaf is a type of hibiscus that grows incredibly fast and needs little fertilizer or pesticides.

An acre of kenaf can produce up to 11 tons of fiber suitable for paper products in just one growing season (versus decades for trees). The bleaching process for kenaf is also more environmentally friendly than the chemicals used by many pulp/paper mills. Ink also adheres better to kenaf papers.

Ask your printer to use Kenaf-treeless paper.
